This weeks interesting read is going to explain the Evolution of Internet Technologies; from Web 1.0 to Web 3.0. I won't keep you guessing any longer lets get into it๐ฅ
As you all know technology has changed massively over the last number of years✅. These are grouped into different areas such as Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.๐ฎYou are probably wondering what is Web 1.0 to Web 3.0 so before we begin lets have a quick look at them.
Web 1.0- is from the years 1990-2000. Web 1.0 helped people find things better online.
Web 2.0- is from the years 2000-2010. Web 2.0 enabled people to experience things better.
Web 3.0- is from the years 2010 onwards. Web 3.0 helped people create things online better.
Now lets take a look at each one in more detail.๐ฃ
Web 1.0- Web 1.0 is known as the static web. It is the term used to describe the first iteration of the internet. It was a read only ecosystem where users consumed content published by a few website owners. Some of the first big Web 1.0 sites to launch were Apple, IMDb, Microsoft and Yahoo.
Web 2.0- Web 2.0 are websites and applications that make use of user- generated content for end users. Web 2.0 is characterised by greater user interactivity and collaboration more pervasive network connectivity and enhanced communication channels. Examples of Web 2.0 sites include Wikipedia, Facebook. Twitter and Instagram.
Web 3.0- Web 3.0 is an idea for a new iteration of the World Wide Web which incorporates concepts such as decentralization, blockchain technologies and taken based economics. Web 3.0 examples include Artificial Intelligence, Metaverse, Smart Contracts and Brave Browser.
